Our story

The passion at the heart of our journey.


In 2012

The company was founded in February 2012 by Philippe Nkouaya and Anthony Gorby at Douala to Cameroon . But before the era, the premises of the label were based on a previous label founded by Philippe and associates, DeadZone Recordz, which was closed in 2011. The Cameroonian record label which mainly produces music hip hop , urban andpopular.

Now

Hope Music is a music publishing company that also provides editing, composition, and management services. The company has a portfolio of over a hundred songwriters. In partnership with Sony Music Entertainment via The Orchard then with JTV Digital of the group Trace . Not to mention his membership on the board of Music In Africa and his partnerships with Virgin Music and   Sacem .


2012
Creation Hope Music Group

Dissolution of the Deadzone label and creation of Hope Music Group by Philippe Nkouaya and Anthony Gorby

2015

Creation of a subsidiary dedicated to the national and international distribution of signed artists: Ténor, Fanicko, Featurist, Zyon Stylei, J-Rio,... modify, duplicate...

Signing with the multinational Sony Music Entertainment through The Orchard for the digital distribution of the label's artists (Michale Kiessou, Philjohn, Yvich, Kayla Lys)

2017

Creation of Bakwaaba, a subsidiary dedicated to the aggregation and management of soundtracks and film scores.

2020

The label specializes in digital publishing and distribution and is rebranding as Hope Music Publishing.

2022

Signs a contract with Virgin Music and works in the first 100% Cameroonian action film "Axe Lourd" as well as in the Ivorian film "Eternel"
